Testimonials

The Bohunt Wokingham School Community Association (BSWCA) is an integral part of school life here at Bohunt Wokingham. It is our take on a traditional PTA where we actively encourage community involvement to make the school a real hub for all. We are fortunate enough to receive such great support from parents and carers of the students we educate, which has been a key factor in the BSWCA raising over £8,000 across 3 years.

I have no doubt that without the fantastic support and involvement from our parents/carers the BSWCA would not be the great success that it is today. The money raised has been invested in the school with projects such as our SEN relaxation room, outdoor classroom facility, microphones for our Creative Arts productions and so much more. We would love for you to become part of the BSWCA.

The PTA have been great to work with in CPA, and have been really flexible in their approach to supporting the events run within the school. Last year we made a few changes to how things were run, with the xmas production having refreshments served in the library rather than the back of the hall. This worked really well and was well organised.

We are also particularly grateful for the speakers paid for by the PTA. Whilst we have not had the opportunity to fully use them at this stage (their debut was going to be Sister Act!) I am sure that they will make a significant difference to the experience of watching a show in the main hall, where acoustics have proved challenging in the past.

The BWSCA have contributed greatly to the outdoor education programme. They have supplied finances that enabled us to secure maps for the students expeditions as well as equipment that all students have used such as a number of our trangias (for cooking) and a good size portion of our stock equipment that we lend out to all students with the priority on supporting our PPG students.

George Peters, Outdoor Education

I am enormously excited for the opportunity to be the link for the PTA this year. I look forward to helping with fundraising, generating ideas, creating plans for the future and seeing the incredible work done in the past – I look forward to seeing the impact of such a fundamental part of the school.
